My first ever YouTube video

copy-of-copy-of-untitled-design-27

This is something I have been thinking about and mulling over for the longest time and I’ve finally taken the plunge. Who knows, it might be the only video I ever post but I doubt it, I have lots of ideas and more importantly I really enjoyed the editing process. So it may be the start of something new and exciting for me. My first video is a beauty one, a really quick run through the makeup I use everyday to create some sort of illusion of looking alive. I won’t be sticking to beauty because a beauty guru I most certainly am not. So I’ll keep this post short and to the point in the hopes you might watch my first video below. I’m really nervous sharing it so be kind, as I know you all will be!  Continue reading

Beauty gifts from Irish businesses #Wrap4Homeless

irish beauty gifts gifts from irish beauty brands meaghers pharmacy #wrap4homless

I spotted a few bloggers heading to the Meaghers Pharmacy event the other day and when I heard what the cause was I just had to weigh in. I’ve seen Peter McVerry speak recently on the homeless crisis in Ireland and it’s just shocking, it’s people like you and me that fall on hard times, often due to circumstances outside of their control, and when I look at my three children and think about other children living in emergency accommodation it makes me genuinely sad. Meaghers Pharmacy are running a really worthy initiative in the lead up to Christmas, if you choose to get two gifts wrapped which will cost €4.50 they will donate that money to the Peter McVerry trust which will cover the cost of a bed for a night for a homeless person. You can donate instore or via text also.  Continue reading

Sulphate free hair products

precious nature alfaparf milano sulphate free shampoo sulphate free haircare alfaparf milano ireland the two darlings

I’ve mentioned before my now mild obsession with sulphates when it comes to the heads in this household. Even a tiny bit of research will alert you to how awful this stuff is and it’s in everything, although that said it’s not pure evil in every product on your bathroom shelf. But when it comes to hair and heads I really don’t feel there is a place for sulphates. We’ve completely switched now, the girls use all products from Elave which I’ve mentioned before Continue reading

Anyone who has read my blog for a while now will know I struggle with my skin having written previously about how to deal with hormonal skin and how to cover it all up. I have battled with bad skin pretty much all my life, I can barely remember a time where I haven’t had at least a couple of spots, that usually being a good skin day. A good few months ago now a group of us Continue reading

I’m going to keep this post short a sweet because my new Tom Bow brush pens arrived and I’m obsessed! See I even had to create the Facebook message for this post myself. Downtime at the Essence Spa Clarion Cork

essence spa clarion hotel cork the two darlings manicure irish blogger

I have always found pregnancy particularly tough on my nails. Over the past few years my nails have been weak and split regularly. I mean so weak that they bend even when I’d be doing up fiddly buttons on the girls dresses, which even thinking about makes me cringe, honestly I think there is no worse a sensation. I’ll be honest, I probably haven’t minded them as much as I should, I don’t take supplements to strengthen them and they are painted most days of the week.  Continue reading

5 beauty buys under €5

beauty under €5 budget beauty buys the two darlings ireland mummy blogger parenting blogger

We all love a bargain! Sometimes I find with expensive beauty buys I find I expect so much more out of them and am often left disappointed – case in point, I recently shelled out over €40 for the much revered Laura Mercier Translucent Powder and to be honest, if I’ve used it ten times that’s all, I nearly always reach for my good old Rimmel pressed powder. Same with nail polish, I always reach for essence over OPI although I do opt for an Essie top coat which works a dream.  Continue reading

Beauty essentials for summer holidays

beauty essentials summer beauty travel essentials beauty travel products the two darlings parenting blogger ireland cork

We travel most often lately by car and boat so this isn’t going to be a post about how to pack all your necessary bits into a small suitcase. I don’t do travelling light anymore but I’d like to think I pack more cleverly. I don’t get much, if any, time to put any sort of a face on when I’m away and I like that, it gives my skin a well needed break to heal and repair. So here are my must haves on top of all the other sh*te I pile into my makeup bag on a routine basis. Continue reading

Dealing with hormonal spots

hormonal acne pregnancy acne hormonal spots the two darlings

For as long as I can remember I have had the ‘pleasure’ of dealing with hormonal spots, through the teenage years to pregnancies hormones have always impacted my skin. I have gone down the route of tablets and the pill to deal with particularly bad breakouts but the effects rarely lasted beyond the end of the course of treatment so it’s not really something I’m likely to bother with again in the near future. Drinking water isn’t going to clear up your skin alone Continue reading
