Ah I have to say, the day this Dyson V8 arrived in the post, hand on heart, it was the best thing that I have ever been sent as part of this blog. Don’t get me wrong, I have received some amazing things in the past but to a Mammy who spends a good portion of her day cleaning up after small people, a vacuum that promised to make my life easier was greatly welcomed. Given the cost of it I put this through it’s paces, I didn’t want this review to be in any way to be swayed by the fact I got this for free. I have been using it now for over two months and *spoiler alert!* every time I use it a little piece of me smiles inside. Continue reading
When people ask me what I do of course the first thing I say is I parent, I am first and foremost Mother and Mammy to my three darlings and lets face it that in itself takes up a fair chunk of my time both day and night. But lately I’ve started to wave my hand flippantly around in the air and with the hint of a red face I mutter something about doing something online with social media. The title blogger seems to have Continue reading
When I was first contacted about going to Tayto Park, I turned down the offer with the explanation that I thought my five and three year old were too young for it. I had for some reason a notion that it was all rollercoasters and things more suited for teenagers through to adults. Well how wrong was I! When I looked into it more and spoke to friends who had visited it I was assured there was more than enough to keep my two ladies happy for hours. Continue reading

I am a pure sucker for Pinterest, I was obsessed with it prior to our wedding, picking up so many little tips and tricks to add a flavour of us as a couple in our own way. Surprisingly, when it came to our home I was a little less obsessed, but I still find it a fantastic place to pick up the most random ideas from storage to art it’s all there. So when Fotostore approached me to work with them, having received the email surrounded by bare white walls, I jumped at the opportunity to do something a bit different to try and make this house a home. With the arrival of the warm weather and thoughts of holidays close to mind it feels like a good time to update my first post on the Marks and Spencer school uniforms. The big lady has worn nothing other than the uniforms from Marks and Spencer so I technically have nothing to compare it to currently but I have myself worn my fair share of uniforms Continue reading
Last summer I look back and think we didn’t make the best of the free days we had before the advent of big school. I suppose it’s fair to say that being pregnant probably didn’t help my energy levels but this year, with energy levels somewhat returned, I am making a commitment to myself and the ladies that we are going to explore more. The mornings are going to be filled with packing picnics, loading up the slow cooker with dinner and piling the
kitchen sink necessary accoutrements that come with kids and adventures into the car. But before we hit off we had to get prepared, the weather was unseasonably mild this Easter and the big lady in particular was left peering into her wardrobe in search of a summer dress that would fit her!
I watched a film recently that made me cry. Me! Cry! Rarely, rarely happens I can assure you but something about it really resonated with me. It’s a documentary called Embrace by Taryn Brummfit which explores the relationship women have with their bodies and encourages us to be more body positive. Not the first of its kind but I think its the way she gets all the different women to open up and talk about their journeys is what really struck a chord with me. It showed how magazine’s photoshop models so that not even the models recognise themselves and then these are the images being fed to us, that we are supposed to aspire to? Continue reading
I find with Instagram there are some accounts that you constantly go back to check on because their feed is not just aesthetically pleasing but the content is fantastic too. This I find with Sarah’s Baba Box account and when she kindly offered to send me the February box for a look see I was delighted. Baba Box is a brand that provides both a subscription service and a one off gifting option. The selection of products contained in the boxes Continue reading
I am lucky enough to be sent lots of wonderful products to try and test out but the really beauty in blogging is when the girls get toys to review. I would go so far as to say that since the Shimmer and Shine dolls arrived at the door there hasn’t been a day where the girls haven’t danced to the catchy tune the dolls sing! I have to admit it has a habit of getting stuck in my head too….! Both ladies really loved these dolls, one is almost 3 and the other almost 5 so the dolls were perfectly suitable for both age groups. The small lady liked the singing and the phrases the dolls say (of which there are plenty so it doesn’t get repetitive) and the older lady is at a stage where she is more likely to actually play and create scenarios with dolls. I find it funny sometimes to hear myself trying to explain things about life when I was small to my four (very nearly five!) year old. Telling her that there was no such things as phones that you can touch, that phones were stuck in the wall ‘back then’. She looks at me like I have ten heads and it makes me think about how drastically different the world is now in some ways. Stories my own parents used to tell me about life when they were young always fascinated me because it sounded like they were from a different era and now the time has come for me to hopefully fascinate my child while regaling her with tales of life really not that long ago. Continue reading
