How do you wash your face?

It’s not often I would pass comment on skincare products mere weeks are buying them online but I’m so blown away by the three products I bought from Nip + Fab (or Nip and Fab) I feel compelled to comment. The change in weather temperatures coupled with the fact that I basically sit between a burning radiator and a drafty window my skin has gone so weird the past couple of weeks. Throw in some typically female hormones and a bit of ‘finishing up work’ stress and you’ve got a recipe for skincare disaster.

So I took to the internet to see what my options were, I needed something stronger than my usual arsenal of products, this type of problem skin needed a firm hand. I did some research and found Glycolic acid as a recommended product for what I wanted. It is an exfoliator and safely removes the outer layer of dead skin cells on your skin, bringing fresh, new skin to the surface. This is also beneficial for those who are looking for products that help with anti-aging. Glycolic acid can also help lighten discoloration of the skin, such as sun spots, and help those with acne-prone and blackhead-prone skin. You are supposed to wear sunscreen when you use this product as your skin is more sensitive. Considering I barely step outside in the daylight I’m just wearing SPF in my foundation.

So I’ve been using the Glycolic Cleansing Fix  followed by the Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Facial Pads on a nightly basis and honestly I haven’t had a single sore blemish since and believe me when I say I had plenty (TMI? my sisters will probably inform me!). I think I bought the Deep Cleansing Fix by accident but I like it, It seems to be a real multitasker of a product. I’ve used it as a face mask once, applied to spots going to bed if I just used my regular moisturizer or I used it as a moisturizer overnight too. The facewash alone really, really cleans the skin without leaving it tight once it’s dry. I’ve used my Micellar cleansing water a few times just as a matter of interest to see if there was any dirt left on my face and the cotton pad is cleaner than it ever used to be after I washed my face using the Clnique anti-blemish soap.

I’m going to stick with this blend of products for washing and cleaning my skin for the next few weeks along with my Clarisonic in the shower and see how I get on. I shall report back!

  1. I love Nip & Fab especially the Deep cleansing one. I only use it for just mask nothing else. I prefer using Glycolic Acid by Mario Badesco, it seems to clear out any of my dark skin pigmentation.

  2. My skin is prone to bumpy or dual headed spots (gross I know) and apart from squeezing them which I feel obliged to do I am yet to find a face wash that dosen’t aggravate my skin. What is this like on oily yet sensitive skin?

  3. I have never used glycolic products before but your post have me really intrigued. Once am done reviewing and using my current products I will go on the hunt for them

  4. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Nip + Fab range, and now I’m more convinced than ever to try some of their products out for myself! A great post, very informative X
