One of my favourite things to do at home is to steal away for a half hour, treat myself to a little indulgence and pamper myself. The bulk of this is basically spent by passing about 20 minutes in a roasting hot shower just enjoying the peace and quiet. But I also like to be productive so I try to do a hair mask once a week. I’m still struggling to get my hair and head back to normal after using the Aussie range of shampoos for far too long, they totally and utterly dried out both my hair and scalp. I’m using the Mane N Tail Deep Moisturising shampoo and conditioner now and have definitely seen a huge improvement.
I also use Morroccanoil’s Intense Hydrating Mask which was recommended by a clever friend – not the way it’s supposed to be used which requires you to wrap your hair in a towel and leave it for about 20 minutes, but I hardly have the time for that so I just use it like a conditioner and leave it in for as long as possible in the shower. I use my trusted Clarisonic every time I shower with this beautiful Aveda face wash too, which came as part of this fabulous set from The Imperial Hotel Cork.
Out of the shower it’s straight onto oils and moisturisers – during the winter I don’t bother with any tan on my legs unless I’m trying some out. However, though my pins might stay hidden for months on end it’s important to keep them moisturised.
I alternative between moisturisers and oils – the moisturiser I’m using at the moment because it feels like pure luxury is Aveda’s Beautifying moisturiser – it’s so thick and literally smells like a spa, divine.I try to remember to put some product in my hair, basically anything from the John Frieda range, depending on whether I want to go straight or curly.
I usually add some Kerastase Serum Oleo-Relax or the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Gold Shimmer Oil oil to the very tips of my hair as these are usually so fuzzy no matter what I do. I also started using this He-Shi Day to Day Gradual Tanner which gives a really subtle hint of colour which I find perfect for the winter.
By the time I’ve gotten through all that inevitably one small lady has joined me and is eager to try out all my lotions and potions. I then moisturise my hands, at the moment I’m using Panier des Sens which I really like and I have a LOT of handcreams – this one is really thick so I tend to use it going to bed. My nails are perpetually weak and broken so I’ve started using this CND RescueRXX and I’m trying to remember to use it at least once a day.
