Is the Dyson V8 Absolute worth €500?

dyson v8 absolute review dyson v8 absolute ireland the two darlings parenting blog mummy blogger ireland cork

Ah I have to say, the day this Dyson V8 arrived in the post, hand on heart, it was the best thing that I have ever been sent as part of this blog. Don’t get me wrong, I have received some amazing things in the past but to a Mammy who spends a good portion of her day cleaning up after small people, a vacuum that promised to make my life easier was greatly welcomed. Given the cost of it I put this through it’s paces, I didn’t want this review to be in any way to be swayed by the fact I got this for free. I have been using it now for over two months and *spoiler alert!* every time I use it a little piece of me smiles inside.  Continue reading

Bloggers and #ad – what does it all mean?

When people ask me what I do of course the first thing I say is I parent, I am first and foremost Mother and Mammy to my three darlings and lets face it that in itself takes up a fair chunk of my time both day and night. But lately I’ve started to wave my hand flippantly around in the air and with the hint of a red face I mutter something about doing something online with social media. The title blogger seems to have Continue reading

Ultimate guide to Tayto Park with young children

tayto park deals tayto park rides tayto park days out in ireland days out in meath

When I was first contacted about going to Tayto Park, I turned down the offer with the explanation that I thought my five and three year old were too young for it. I had for some reason a notion that it was all rollercoasters and things more suited for teenagers through to adults. Well how wrong was I! When I looked into it more and spoke to friends who had visited it I was assured there was more than enough to keep my two ladies happy for hours. Continue reading

Marks and Spencer school uniforms – one year on

This is a sponsored post!

With the arrival of the warm weather and thoughts of holidays close to mind it feels like a good time to update my first post on the Marks and Spencer school uniforms. The big lady has worn nothing other than the uniforms from Marks and Spencer so I technically have nothing to compare it to currently but I have myself worn my fair share of uniforms Continue reading

Finding the middle ground with breastfeeding

I really wanted to put some thoughts together on my whole breastfeeding experience, not because I want to pitch a tent in that camp, I don’t, I’ve said it a million time I’m neither ‘pro-breastfeefing’ or ‘pro-bottle’, I am ‘pro-feeding your baby the way you want to’ and that’s my stance on that. That said I do want to make comment on how I got on with breastfeeding, the good and the bad, and maybe it might give someone who is wondering about it all a bit of impartial advice. I’ve written previously about what I did differently this time round with this baba compared with my two previous attempts, so it wasn’t for lack of trying that I got it right eventually!   Continue reading

Discovering Cork – Fitzgerald’s Park

Ages ago now I had a post on my Facebook page where lots of other Mum’s suggested places to hit for with kids around Cork. Suggestions came for near and far, from model railways to beaches, parks to playgrounds. My aim this summer is to discover them all. When the big lady started school I think I had underestimated the commitment involved in a child going to primary school and really felt I hadn’t made the best of our free time last summer. Granted I was akin to a sweaty whale Continue reading

Holiday mode with Marks & Spencer

M&S summer holiday clothes for kids the two darlings parenting blog M&S summer 2017

Last summer I look back and think we didn’t make the best of the free days we had before the advent of big school. I suppose it’s fair to say that being pregnant probably didn’t help my energy levels but this year, with energy levels somewhat returned, I am making a commitment to myself and the ladies that we are going to explore more. The mornings are going to be filled with packing picnics, loading up the slow cooker with dinner and piling the kitchen sink necessary accoutrements that come with kids and adventures into the car. But before we hit off we had to get prepared, the weather was unseasonably mild this Easter and the big lady in particular was left peering into her wardrobe in search of a summer dress that would fit her!

Baba Box – quirky gifts for Mums and babies alike

I find with Instagram there are some accounts that you constantly go back to check on because their feed is not just aesthetically pleasing but the content is fantastic too. This I find with Sarah’s Baba Box account and when she kindly offered to send me the February box for a look see I was delighted. Baba Box is a brand that provides both a subscription service and a one off gifting option. The selection of products contained in the boxes Continue reading

To the Mum who…

To the Mum…

Who notices her concealer isn’t rubbed in AFTER the school run has been done…
Who doesn’t quite understand why the children love Mister Tumble so much…
Who always crawls into bed last after the day despairing at the mess that remains despite all the cleaning done…
Who realises in the car at the swimming pool that only one eye has had a lashing of liquid eye liner…
Whose heart drops a little when the children ask her when is she going back to work… Continue reading
